Northeast Cluster will meet and walk on March 20 at the Princess Preserve near St. Augustine - a testing of the waters (and trees and weather and people and entertainment). This is our first cluster contact with nature scheduled in many years. If we plan it, will they come?

We’ll meet at 10 a.m. at the Princess Place Preserve off U.S. 1 in Flagler County, at the confluence of Pellicer Creek and the Matanzas River. We'll walk on easy trails for two hours or so, and then explore the homestead. Be sure to bring lunch, water, suntan lotion and insect repellent. The outing will be over by about 2 p.m. For directions or further information, please email Brian Paradise, outing coordinator, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. UU Fellowship of St. Augustine

“One Generation from Extinction” - Applying those words to Unitarian Universalism, do they strike horror or uneasiness or curiosity or excitement or determination in your heart and mind? The Northeast Cluster will be tackling that subject at its September gathering, which will feature Florida District executive director Rev. Kenneth Hurto with a highly interactive program.

 Rev. Kenn Hurto, District Executive

The date is Saturday, September 26, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of St. Augustine .The registration fee of $15.00 per person ($20.00 at the door) goes exclusively to feed us nicely by the St. Augustine catering wizards. Lola Sorensen, UUFSA’s new president, has told their food committee that they have a green light to go all-out in exercising their culinary artistry and creativity.

Registration and light breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. will be followed by worship and Rev. Kenn’s address.

What is the Northeast Cluster? Print E-mail

Saturday, 11 April 2009

The Northeast Cluster comprises Unitarian Universalist congregations in the Northeast region of Florida and is a recognized entity within the Florida District. Its role is to encourage information sharing and teamwork between member congregations so that they can better serve their congregations and the wider UU mission. As stated by the UUA (Unitarian Universalist Association):

Our congregations are self-governing. Authority and responsibility are vested in the membership of the congregation. Each Unitarian Universalist congregation is involved in many kinds of programs. (Excerpted from "We Are Unitarian Universalists", pamphlet #3047 © Unitarian Universalist Association, 1995)

Congregational representatives to the NE Cluster meet periodically to discuss programs, social actions, fundraising strategies, speaker exchanges, advertising and marketing. Areas of common concern, such as growth and congregational dynamics, are also addressed. Cluster workshops, special events and picnics provide additional opportunities for members to interact with one another.
