Before you can actively participate in these Forums
i.e. "post" a reply, you must first be a registered user on the UUFG website AND be logged in. To do that:
1. go to website, any page, click on the red "Member Area" in upper right corner of the top banner. That takes you to a page asking for username and password which you don't have, so
2. click on red "Register" link at very bottom. the "Passphrase" you will be asked for is the same as we use for Millhopper. Or ask the webmaster.
3. Fill out your info and you're IN!
To login when returning, just do #1. Your login/out status is displayed in the top banner on the right hand side in white.
-->> If you are NOT registered or logged in, you will see the message "Administrator has disabled public posting" at bottom right of any topic message area.
Main Toolbar -
Index - The "Index' button simply lists the current Forums or Topics depending on View you are using.
Topic View/Forum View - When the Topic View button is visible, clicking it will switch you from Forum View to Topic View. When the Forum View button is visible, clicking it will switch you to from Topic View to Forum View. In Topic View, all the discussions are listed from newest to oldes, without seperation for categroies and forum headers. This view is often used in order to quickly read all the newest postings, without needing to navigate through different headers. In Forum View the headings of all categories and forums are visible, this is the default view and is easiest for navigating through different topics.
User - Allows searching for website users by several parameters.
Messages - Accesses the Private Message controls for sending messages to website users within website.
Rules - Etiquette guidelines for using the Forums.
Search - Look for specific forums, topics, posts by various criteria.
Jump - Shows the entire Forum structure, listing all categories, forums, sub-forums, even if they appear hidden.

How do I add a post to a topic, i.e. "reply" to an existing post?
When viewing any post of a Topic thread, click the "Reply" button in the lower right of the message area. Note: you must first be logged in to post a reply. See above.
How do I use the editor to change/enhance my message?
The standard editor is NOT WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), instead it is a "BBCode" editor. You can find more info on its use at BBCode.org - www.bbcode.org/
Basically, you first highlight your text by dragging the mouse pointer, then clicking one of the format codes above the text box. A format code will be placed before and after the text. The new format will not be visable until you have completed the edit by clicking "Submit" button below the text area and on the left.

How do I see the entire Forum structure?
At the bottom right of any forum page, pull down the "Jump" box and you will see all Categories and Forums listed.
How do I subscribe to the Forums?
Once you post an item to the forum, you become "subscribed" to the discussion you joined. Once subscribed, you'll get an email message when someone else posts to that discussion and the email will have a link back to the discussion. If you only want to subscribe in order to receive the automatic email notifications of a new post, then while viewing the topic, press "Forum/Post Tools" >> Subscribe.
How do I un-subscribe to a Topic
At the top and right of the Forum section is a "Post Tools" dropdown menu. One option is "Unsubscribe".
How do I post to a Topic from a link I receive in an email?
[1] Once you get an email with a link back to the discussion you subscribed to, click the Topic" link.
[2] If you see that you are not logged into the forum (you know you're not logged in if don't see "You are now logged in" in the banner just above the forum), click the"Members Area" link at the top of the page.
[3] Log in
[4] Now, ****and this is the key step****Click the BACK button twice to return to the Topic page whence you started. The relevant post will either be at the top (if you changed your profile to put latest posts first) or at the bottom of the Topic page.

Sending a Private Message - what exact "name" do I use in the "To:" box?
Use the "user name", not the formal name. All user names can be found by mousing-over the "Users" menu item and selecting "User List".
