The Florida District is the State of Florida excluding the Panhandle plus one congregation in Valdosta in south central Georgia, the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. There are five Florida Clusters: Northeast, West Central, East Central, Southwest and Southeast. The cluster presidents bring issues to the district that may require more resources or have a broader impact.

Each District has a representative on the UUA Board of Trustees. Some trustees represent several districts depending on their size (in membership not geographical size). The UUA is headquartered in Boston and provides resources to congregations, develops Religious Education programs, spurs social action, and does many other things on a national level.
